Originally from Newfoundland and raised in Nunavut and Labrador, Karla McGrath is a graduate of Carleton University (BA, 1988), the University of Kentucky College of Law in Lexington, Kentucky (JD, 1996) and of Queen’s Law (LL.M., 2013). Following completion of an accreditation year and articles, Karla was called to the bar in both Ontario and New York in 2000.

Derek Cannon has been working with the Queen’s University Faculty of Law since October 2014. He is the administrative support for the Queen’s Business Law, Elder Law, and Family Law clinics. He attended St. Lawrence College from September 2009 to May 2012 and received an Advanced Diploma in Business Administration – Human Resources. Derek’s decision to pursue a career in the administration field came after a tour in Afghanistan.
Review Counsel, Queen's Legal Aid & Queen's Family Law Clinic
Linda Smith, Law’92, practiced law in Kingston and the surrounding area for more than 20 years. She has represented hundreds of legal aid clients in her capacity as a Legal Aid Ontario panel lawyer in family law, criminal law, child protection litigation and domestic violence matters. Linda also acted as duty/advice counsel on the per diem panel of lawyers assisting clients at the Family Court in Kingston.
