Queen's Legal Aid represents people charged with criminal offences in Kingston and Napanee. Our services our limited to people charged with summary conviction offences (e.g. assault, theft, fraud, threatening) who have been denied a Legal Aid Certificate because the Crown is not seeking jail.
We will obtain disclosure of offences from the Crown and review it with the client. We then interview any witnesses, research the law, meet with the Crown to investigate possible resolutions and then provide the client with our legal opinion of their matter.
We will appear with clients at all court appearances from the initial appearances in set date court to the resolution of the charges, including both guilty pleas and trials.
